Who I am.
I’m based in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and have been helping people with their English language needs since 1998.
I have a BA (Hons) degree in English from Royal Holloway College, London University. My teaching qualifications include a Post Graduate Certification in Education (PGCE with distinction) from King’s College, London University. In addition, I have a Teaching English for Business Certificate from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (Cert.TEB).
Many native English speakers find it difficult to help learners of English who are beginners or have only reached an elementary level. Many German speakers, who are trainers of English, are never quite sure that their English is ‘native’ standard. Experience has shown that a native speaker, who has knowledge of the learner’s own language (and where and how this is different from English), can make things a lot easier and save time for trainees at all levels.
A lot of people today still need to regularly practise and train their English. Some need help in professional areas such as giving presentations or writing e-mails. Others simply feel inhibited when speaking English, and need an opportunity to regularly develop their active vocabulary and general spoken fluency for both professional and private reasons. I specialise in offering courses – in company or online- designed to meet these specific needs. In particular, I’m a great believer in learning through, and by following, the interests of my customers.
